The old woman’s grey hair is still present at the back of her head, despite the magnificent baldness that crowns her skull. She constantly takes her beloved bloodied bat with her and would rather not be without one. Granny begins on the search as soon as you start trying to find a way out, going through her residences and preparing traps to capture her next victim. Once the main character is awakened, Granny resumes her search. Unless you are lucky enough to live until the sixth day, this is how the game goes on until the fifth day.

Normal waking occurs, and quick doom follows if you are struck by the all-seeing Granny’s bat on the fifth day (the Granny can decapitate you or devour your character while you’re still alive). Except for areas where you must slump, the character can look for you anywhere. She doesn’t look under beds or in closets when looking for the player, but she finds him right away and hits him in the head if she sees him hiding.
